Streaming Cam Channel Changes on YouTube
The eagle cameras we're linked to via YouTube are constantly being changed by operators.

I've been noticing the eagle cameras on YouTube are having their channels changed frequently. It's quite possible that explore.org frowns on external websites like this one linking to their YouTube feed.

Unfortunately it takes constant checking on my end re-linking the feeds. Decorah eagles was a steady feed for several years, but since switching to explore is changing channels often daily.

If we drop the eagle cams their urls will redirect here so our visitors will know what happened. Personally i feel FidoSysop Blog is interrupting revenue generating on YouTube.

Best wishes for a happy and prosperous new year!cool

I've dumped the Explore.org YouTube Eagles Nest Camera feeds.

YouTube is the preferred choice for live video streaming. But there is only an option to disable video embedding as a whole. So operators who share to their own websites, but frown on others like FidoSysop Blog linking to their feeds must re-stream to a new channel.

Of course this is also about revenue generating from YouTube feeds. When someone else links to a feed and it becomes popular, like our eagle cam pages, it takes away part of their revenue. This blog is a hobby of mine and does not run ads or otherwise try to earn revenue.

Broadstream and Explore are changing channels to break embedded links purposely. You and others are costing them lost revenue.

Broadstream Florida Keys cams are now gone. I had stated a Florida Keys Webcam page with links to many streaming feeds, but when checking the links yesterday I discovered every single webcam link was disconnected. Nobody likes dead links especially Google so that page is history.

YouTube offers live feeds to be embedded elsewhere but the creators can't stand to see others displaying their feeds. It's nipping into others revenue, or so they think. Ads are still displayed on embedded videos, so the revenue stream is not interrupted. And as i mentioned before, this blog does not run ads or otherwise attempt to generate revenue.

Oh well.. Just another day in paradise!devil_laugh_gif

This morning both Decorah Eagles backup camera feeds have vanished, but both are up on explore easily found via YouTube search.

Axing the remote feeds or frequently changing channels is a disservice to those who have bookmarked pages to easily view the Eagle's raise their young.

As far as generating revenue from YouTube, remote videos on sites like this one will display any ads in the feed. Selfish creators are shooting themselves in the foot.

So the Decorah Eagles feeds are history. That leaves Berry College Eagles feed that is being deleted as well.

Such is life i guess!confused

It should be noted Google is heavily pushing their premium ad-free pay service. Not sure how creators are being paid when their ads are blocked. Maybe creators get a few penny's from Google's monthly subscriber subscription.

Also with this premium subscription push I'ts all out war on small video serving websites being non indexed in Google search. If you run such a site might want to check it's index status.
