My Experience Dining Out At Golden Corral Restaurant
What an experience!
We went to a Golden Corral Monday afternoon.
Upon arriving i parked next to this long handicap wheelchair ramp. With my bad hip and arthritis it’s much easier to hobble up the ramp with my old persons cane assisting me then walk up about 8 steps.
Upon getting to the door i saw a small paper sign that said their credit card terminal was down so no plastic accepted. We hobble back down the ramp and drive across Ulmerton Road to an Acheiva credit union and withdraw enough cash to pay for dinner. The non member fee was $3.00 and my bank got me for $2.00 on top of that. I know that’s probably not the managements fault the terminals were down, but our meal ended up costing $5.00 more than we planned on spending.
We drive back across Ulmerton Road and park a space closer to the handicapped ramp than before. Then hobble back up the ramp and get inside the restaurant to discover the management had taken the handle off the handicapped entrance door.
Two signs pointing to a handicapped entrance door that had no handle to open it!
The next disappointment we experienced was. I had a coupon for a buy one buffet and get another at 1/2 price. The cashier argued with me that the coupon was expired. It was dated 07/21/2011. She insisted the 7th month was June! Arrrrrrr!!
Upon exiting the establishment i found the handicap ramp i had hobbled up earlier was roped off and a guy was painting it. WTF? During business hours and they were painting the entrance ramp! On top of that it had rained earlier in the day, and after i slowly made my way down the steps and to my car it started raining again. The guy that was rolling paint looked up at the sky with a dumbfounded look on his face. Don’t know why i didn’t snap a photo of that.
BUT the Food Was EXCELLENT!
I fired off a complaint to the home office but never got a response as of this posting.
No wonder American Businesses are Failing Left and Right!
